What is a Prosthodontist?
The American College of Prosthodontists defines a prosthodontist as a dentist who has successfully completed an advanced education program in prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry pertaining to the restoration and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance and health of the patient by the restoration of natural teeth and/or the replacement of missing teeth and craniofacial tissues with artificial substitutes. Dr. Galitsis received his certificate in prosthodontics from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral surgery and maintained a position as assistant clinical professor at the post-graduate prosthodontic department for 6 years.
Dr. Galitsis is trained in treating complex reconstructive cases. Restoring collapsed bites, lost or missing teeth, uneven and worn smiles are completed with a high level of attention to detail.

What is an Orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists defines an Orthodontist as a specialty trained dentist who is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of the misalignment of the jaws and teeth. Dr. Bovino has limited her practice to the specialty of Orthodontics for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Bovino has patients ranging from 7 to 80 years of age. Conventional braces, Invisalign, and removable techniques are prescribed for various cases.
Dr. Bovino is also trained in the treatment of skeletal – surgical orthognathic cases. Dr. Bovino supervises ortho-gnathic cases with a maxillo-facial oral surgeon. As a team they diagnose, treatment plan and treat patients with jaw-facial disharmonies with the utmost care.
